KIELDER COTTAGE

WELCOME TO KIELDER COTTAGE

Located on the edge of Kielder Water in the Northumberland National Park, our charming self catering cottage offers a peaceful and tranquil haven with magnificent views of Kielder Water and forest.

The 200 year old cottage is comfortably furnished and has a fabulous cast iron range with open fireplace, perfect for those cosy evenings.  We  have 3 bedrooms and can accommodate up to 6  guests.  Up to 2 well behaved pets are also welcome.

  • Asgard secure bike locker can store 2/3 bikes

There is a garden to the front of the cottage and a decked area to the rear;  snuggle up on our outdoor sofa and enjoy the spectacular views and breathtaking dark skies. 

Kielder Cottage is sited within Northumberland and Kielder International Dark Sky Park and conveniently located for the award winning Kielder Observatory.  The area is ideal for a range of outdoor activities including cycling, walking, fishing and water sports.  Take a ferry cruise on Kielder Water or hire a bike and explore the many paths and trails.

Kielder Waters 26 mile Lakeside Way is accessible to all and incorporates Kielder Art Trail, Kielder Castle and Viaduct together with 3 Visitor  Centres.   There is an abundance of wildlife including red squirrels, roe deer and osprey; Bakethin wildlife hide provides great viewing opportunities.  There is also a Bird of Prey  centre within the park.

Falstone Village and local pubs are within 1 mile, Bellingham is 9 miles distant and Hexham 22 miles.  For those wishing to explore Northumberland and the Scottish Borders during their stay; Hadrians Wall is within driving distance and Kielder is only 10 miles from the Scottish Border.

Northumberland International Dark Sky Park, is the largest Gold Tier Dark Sky Park area of protected night sky in Europe. The first of its kind in England and one of the largest in the world.
